About

Dr. Virginia OramOriginally born in Redding, California, Dr. Virginia grew up in California, Alaska and Oregon. She moved to Eugene in 1985 to attend the University of Oregon. In 1989 she received a B.S. in psychology, with a minor in communication.

She became inspired to pursue naturopathic medicine and homeopathy through a course at Lane Community College taught by Stephen Messer, ND, in 1989.

In 1995 she moved to Portland to pursue her degree at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, one of four colleges in the U.S. accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME). The CNME is the accrediting agency for naturopathic medical schools in the United States.

She completed a one-year family practice residency in 2000 at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine Teaching Clinic in Portland, Oregon. This is a rare and difficult position to attain, and proved invaluable in honing her abilities and diagnostic skills. In 2000 she returned to Eugene to take over the 21-year naturopathic and homeopathic practice of Dr. Stephen Messer, her mentor and teacher for over 10 years.

She enjoys hiking, backpacking, and gourmet natural foods cooking (and uncooking), in addition to helping her patients lead fuller, healthier lives.

Dr. Oram is licensed by the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Examiners (OBNE). She is a licensed primary care physician (PCP) in the state of Oregon.
